The Add Security Exception dialog will appear. 3.Click Get Certificate. 4.Read the text describing the problems with this site. 5.Click Confirm Security Exception if you want to trust the site. I'm a webdeveloper and I'm visiting https sites on our own new servers which we are migrating which don't have certificates yet. I'm testing the sites on the new server and I'd like to switch off the untrusted connection warning temporary so I can get on with my work and don't have to click myself some RSI. Today is the first time this has happend, i keep trying to log into facebook but everytime i do it says 'This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.facebook.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Hi - I have a very similar problem. I had to remove some malware, and ended up reinstalling Firefox. Now, no matter the search (Google, Yahoo, Facebook for example) I am getting an error, This Connection is Untrusted for what I consider to be basic websites and searches, and really don't want to be investigating 'certificates' for every search I do as has been recommended in some previous posts. I've used Firefox for quite some time and have never seen this issue before. I am very reluctant to check I Understand the Risks. Any suggestions?

Hi Ink Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program. Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process. Firefox Every Site Is Untrusted

After using Firefox for years, suddenly I repeatedly get the message that 'this connection is untrusted' for many sites, even including. In the details it says: 'The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.' I have tried everything I read in the Mozilla help forums, but nothing has worked. One suggestion is to disable the SSL scan from the antivrus (Mine is Norton Internet Security). Does this make sense, and if so, how do I do it? Thanks for any help!

I imagine and hence your asking about disable the SSL scan I looked in NIS and if there's an option to disable SSL scan. I don't find it. You are running google is not shy about finding 'The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided.' I tried your idea, but the problem hasn't gone away. I did notice that when I visit 'Tools', then 'Options', then 'Advanced', then 'Certificates', then 'View Certificates', and then look under 'Your Certificates', there is nothing listed. Is that a problem?

As you might have guessed, I'm an old guy to whom the inner workings of computer programs are magic. Thank you for your help. My 'Your Certificates' is blank and always has been. The inner workings are really magic. It's all done with smoke and mirrors. Silly thing to try. Antivirus for mac 10.6.8.

Is to Restart FF with Add-ons Disabled. Menu Bar > Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled. You'll be prompted to start FF in SafeMode. See if you experience the error message. Getting FF back to normal mode just involves closing FF (wait a few moments) and then re-opening.
